Commonly accepted physical divisions in the LandOfNod.
The four states of being: Animal (motile, flesh & blood, eats other living things), Plant (sessile, grows, feeds on dead or unliving material, often drinks sunlight), Mineral (unliving matter, solid, does not eat or grow, this category includes the Boabim), Spirit (incorporial or vaporous. Includes phenomena like weather or the wind, as well as diseases, demons, and non-material guardians)
The five seasons:
- Darkness seasons in the depths of winter.
- Water season starts with the thaws, and includes the flooding (i.e. rainy) season.
- Plant season is the major growing season, including late spring, early summer.
- Fire seasons in the hottest season of the year, including much of summer.
- Stone season is when all life goes dormant: the fall.
these need not be of even length. They are named after the commonly aknowledged "five elements" of the world.
In Enoch, all things are considered to be interactions between the "elements" of Day and Night, bound by the orderly procession of hours. There are 24 hours in an Enochian day, each pair (ascending and descending) named after one of the seats in the ParlementOfSeats. The sun usually sets some time during Nephriti's Hour, either in Nephriti's Ascention (during the months of Darkness, Stone, and Water) or Nephriti's Decention (during the months of Stone, Fire, and Plant), although on the solstices, the sunset lies outside Nephriti's Hour.
There are a number of recognised "pure animals" or "animal types." Bird, Herdbeast, Worm, and Fish are among these.
There are seven days in the week, a unit of time recognised by nearly all cultures. These are named after the seven planets, or Wandering Stars -- the unfalled archangels, sans the Sun (to whom the measure of each day and each year belongs) and the Moon (to whom the measure of months belongs). Some claim that the seven-day week foretells the fall of Lucifer, revealing that the Fall was another known part of the Divine Plan.
